I forgot

I should've noted this two weeks ago.
...have you ever had a TOTAL stranger on the street in passing say, "You look nice today. I like your shoes."

TODAY?! have you seen me some other days?
that was weird

and funny! =) --even better, is that I think he was probably 15 years old!

ready for Spring!

Going to California for 4 days really got me excited for sunny weather. And it was very relaxing! I made it through the Balloon Stampede "storm" and now we are on to smoother sailing. Plus I'm getting new carpet soon! And my parents are coming this Thursday, Friday. MOST of all I can't wait to go to Yakima for Easter. It's going to be a GREAT family reunion, including the introduction of the newest addition-- Zoe, my dog. =) Plus, Grammy is going to come see my house in Walla Walla!
Here's to sunny spring days!.....and more running. April is the official start to my Portland Marathon training.

Ack!

BALLOON STAMPEDE! I HATE THIS EVENT EVERY YEAR! I am TOTALLY SWAMPED with work for it. Please pray for me. I am DEFINATELY going to have to work extra hours this week --especially because I already have scheduled to go on vaccation to Cali. Friday and Monday

going forward

I'm going to do it.

I'm calling the rescue shelter today and I'm going to give this puppy a week trial. Starting this Thursday night. (no Survivor and all)

doubt

I'm starting to get cold feet about the dog.

Fear of commitment? yes!
Worried about the increased financial expense? yes!
I'm a control freak? yes!
I just made the LARGEST purchase of my life and I'm putting a lot of money into it to make it nice and I don't want it to get ruined? yes!
In the words of The Duke, (from Moulin Rouge) with a slight adaptation, "I just don't like other people (hurting) my things!" yes!
Set in my ways? kinda =)

And now as a result of all these personal confessions, you probably all think it's even MORE important for me to be broken of these things by getting a dog. (so I can get over these things before I have kids?-- something like that) I see the logic, but right now I'm seeing more drawbacks to getting a dog than advantages. I just want to be wise and not make a decision that I'm going to regret.

And now I'm hearing whisperings of, "have the best decisions you've made in your life always been logical?" Not totally. "and isn't there something about intrinsic value that out weights extrinsic?" yes.

Any more thoughts?

response

So no one is going to talk me out of it? I've never had a dog be apart of my life and yet you all think it's what I should do, huh?! Wow. I guess us "no dog" people are far and few between. (that's the mindset I've been opporating under for most of my life)

possibilities

I've been thinking for a while that I'd be interested in having a dog.
And with my new house purchase, I have the right set up for one now.
I went and saw this dog today. (7 months old) These pictures don't do her justice. She's SO cute and has a great personality. Awesome coloring and she shouldn't get much bigger. She really liked to rest her head on my leg to get love (just above the knee). My co-worker just bought her sister. Amazing well behaved. I think I'll take her for a trial period at the end of next week.

What do you think? Is my life/personality compatible with having a dog? Is this the right timing? Good move? Bad move? I want to hear your thoughts. Personal opinions are allowed.
Any tips? Does she look like my type?

in one week

I'll be a home owner!

I can't really wrap my brain around it, quite yet.

I'm sure my arm will believe it on Wednesday, after I've signed a foot of papers.
